About Sam Rosenfeld
Sam was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1951. After graduating from Taylor Allderdice High School, Sam applied for school loans and grants, and worked as a janitor part time while attending the University of Pittsburgh. Sam continued his education at Temple University Dental School, where he was president of his freshman class.
Sam completed a general practice residency at Community General Hospital, in Reading Pa., and opened his first dental office in 1981. Through hard work and determination, Sam built his dental practice into three offices. In 2004, after 25 years as a successful businessman, Sam retired and moved to Sarasota to be near his family.
Sam is a leader who has dedicated himself to giving back to the community through public service. He cares deeply about the future of his community, but believes we are on the wrong track and need a strategy for change in these times of economic uncertainty. As a consensus builder, Sam will work to minimize partisan politics, always working with others to find winning solutions. Sam is not beholden to special interest groups, lobbyists, or big corporations. He believes government must be accountable to the people, all the people, and not just a select few.
Sam understands the issues important to our district and will be a taxpayer advocate, defender of education, champion for the environment, and will seek solutions to make health care more available and more affordable. Send Sam Rosenfeld to Tallahassee and he will dedicate himself to solving our most pressing problems while fighting to improve the daily lives of all the citizens of Sarasota.
Sam has been married to Sacha, for 25 years. Together they raised their beloved son, Jordan, who died in an automobile accident in 2006 at the age of 21.
